Roses and Sunflowers Etiquette

The program is designed to empower middle school girls with essential life skills, confidence, and social etiquette. Through weekly sessions, guest speakers, and unique learning experiences, participants grow in areas of personal presentation, communication, and leadership.

The program is open to middle school girls, ages 10-14, from North Dorchester Middle and Maces Lane Middle Schools. Our goal is to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for young women ready to learn and grow.

To apply, please complete the intake form at the bottom of this page. Once submitted, a staff member will contact you to guide you through the rest of the application process. Applicants will need to meet the following requirements:

• Minimum GPA: Each student must have a 2.5 overall GPA.
• Essay: Write a 1-page essay on "Why is etiquette needed in society?"
• Recommendation Letter: Provide a recommendation letter from a community member who can speak to the applicant’s character and potential.

Once these materials are submitted, they will be reviewed by our team for acceptance into the program.

The program meets weekly on Saturday afternoons. Sessions include both structured lessons and interactive activities designed to engage and empower each participant.

This is an 8-month program that runs from October through May, culminating in a special Cotillion Ball where participants showcase their growth and accomplishments.

The Cotillion Ball is the program’s grand finale—a formal event where participants celebrate their achievements and demonstrate the etiquette and social skills they’ve gained throughout the year. It’s a memorable experience that marks their growth and transformation.
